We had a great time in NYC earlier this month, where Sticky Comics exhibited at the Museum of Cartoon & Comic Art (MoCCA) Festival. We met a ton of great people, including lots of talented artists, and everyone loved our fantastic new Kindle Will Assimilate Your Books shirt. Bibliophiles, beware!

The Sunset Tree Tee is a screenprinted reconstruction of a beautiful sunset that we photographed on the Appalachian Trail last winter. In this print, the trees are visible as silhouettes and the sky is printed using a four-color gradient technique with blue, white, yellow and orange ink.

Since the Sunset Tree Tee is screened by hand, the sunset gradient on each tee is beautifully unique. You’ll love the gorgeous colors in each one!

And, we’re a little out of date with the updates of all the awesome cons we’ve been to. In September, the entire Ten East Read team went to Intervention Con, where Christiann of Sticky Comics was a guest. We met lots cool people there and had a smashing time!

Earlier this month, Christiann of Sticky Comics also exhibited at the New York Comic Con and met tons of awesome people. We hear it was pretty epic.

The Sticky Comics table at PACC

Our table was next to the important table of Dina Kelberman of Important Comics. She was a cool neighbor with lots of nice stuff.

On our other side was M. Jacob Alvarez of HypnoSpiral Comics, which are vertiginously great.

I talked to Darryl Ayo, who does Little Garden Comics, among other rad things. He drew me a very cool Dr. Manhattan.

We chatted it up with Mike Sgier of Supernova Lullaby. He does some awesome alien drawings and we got some of his really cool stickers.

I bought some minis from Doug Slack, who draws good corpses and is funny too. We spent like five minutes trying to figure out what Mickey Rourke movie I’d seen recently (it turned out to be the very obvious Iron Man 2).

Christiann and I chatted with the super nice guys of Ink Answer, which is a neat collaborative webcomic.

James T. Arnold of Ink Answer also told us about some fun things we might have to come back to Philly for.

I got to meet the super-talented Box Brown, who was also super nice.

I talked romance books with the very sweet Claire Folkman, who publishes one-page comic books online and was screening a cute, short, silent, comic-style romantic film at her table.

I met Alex Eckman Lawn, who does awesome Victorian and Gothic style illustrations.

I bought some very neat magnets from Best Available Productions.

I got a cool "Team Yeah!" button from the cool guys at Full Sanction.

I said hi to Larry West, who had some wicked illustrations.

I got a nifty button-eyed robot button from L. Nichols of the nifty Jumbly Junkery.

I got a hobo name from Liz Baillie, who has an awesome hobo-style comic called Free Wheel.

I bought a spooky card for my sweetie from Nicholas Larkin.

I talked to the creator of Sally Bloodbath (I’m not sure whether I should call her Sally?). Her comics that are neat-o and spiffy, too.

Our awesome friends Jim and Charlie came with us. Jim did a fantastic job helping with the table and Charlie drew some killer stuff on the collaborative storyboards that were going around.

The organizers were super nice and helpful, especially Pat Aulisio (who I think is the primary organizer). Thanks so much you guys for putting together such a fun event!!

I met a ton of other cool people, but I don’t have all of their names and contact info. Everyone I met was awesome. So, if we met, you rock!

And if I got a name wrong, linked to the wrong project or misconstrued something all together, just let me know and I’ll fix it. Thanks for the fun times, Philly folks!
